Chrysokellarias Monastery

The southernmost geographically monastery of the Holy matrix ¬ city Messinia between villages Vasilitsi and Chrysokellaria, the Municipality of Koroni is the only Chrysokellaria, built originally in the 17th century was destroyed by Ibrahim.

The church is Basilica, built in 1864 and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, but celebrates the Holy Trinity. Nunnery (1 nun).

Changing the name to Chrisokelaria

The name Saratsi lasted until 1927. Then by decree renamed Chrisokelaria the homonymous monastery situated just 2 km southeast of the village tucked into the cavity of a hill. Next to the temple there is a large guesthouse freshman and a tap a few meters from the church.
